SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES
The Graphic Designer plays a key role in bringing the Garden’s brand to life through compelling, on-strategy visual content across print and digital platforms. From brochures and signage to social media graphics and product design, this position supports the full creative lifecycle—from concept and layout to execution and delivery. The Graphic Designer collaborates closely with the Digital Marketing Manager and the Director of Marketing to create audience-centric, polished visuals that enhance the Garden’s storytelling and drive engagement.
SKILLS & COMPETENCIES
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop) required.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office is preferred.
- Strong understanding of design principles, layout, typography, and visual hierarchy.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Able to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
- Team player with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Creative, curious, and highly detail-oriented.
- Enthusiasm for the Garden’s mission and willingness to work occasional events and weekends as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Fine Arts, Marketing, or related field strongly preferred.
- 1-2 years of professional graphic design experience required.
- A portfolio demonstrating creative range and technical proficiency is required.
- Photography experience and proficiency with photo-editing software are strongly preferred.
TASKS & FUNCTIONS
- Develop on-brand visual assets for a wide range of uses, including brochures, flyers, signage, advertisements, invitations, merchandise, billboards, and event collateral.
- Collaborate with Development and Programs teams to support fundraising, membership, and public program initiatives with custom-designed print pieces.
- Ensure all print designs align with the Garden’s visual identity and brand standards.
- Prepare and package files for professional printing, ensuring accuracy in formatting, color, and specifications to ensure optimal quality.
- Manage multiple design projects simultaneously and clearly communicate timelines to internal stakeholders.
- Participate in project kickoff meetings and respond to feedback throughout the revision process.
- Assist with sourcing photography, illustration, and other assets needed for print design.
- Support marketing efforts with occasional digital assets such as event hero images or email headers, as needed.
Compensation: Hourly pay starting at $21.50 plus Full-Time benefits, which include Medical, Dental, PTO and paid holidays, and 401(k) Match
